African American History Program
The Louisa County Historical Society is committed to preserving and promoting our county's rich African American History.
In just the past few years, the African American History Program (AAHP) has accomplished so much, including:
- Forming a Community Advisory Council that consists of a majority of African American Louisans
- Launching our Freedom of Choice Remembrance Project, which honors the first African American Students to integrate into Louisa Schools
- Collecting Oral Histories of African Americans from the County
- Hiring our AAHP Outreach Coordinator Brianna Patten
- Putting on stellar African American History Programs
And more!
